The Fire Chief manages and directs the overall operations of the fire services, assuring that goals and objectives are achieved to afford the citizens the best possible emergency service.

What We're Looking For:

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Fire Science, Public Administration or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred; and ten (10) or more years of progressively responsible experience in fire service administration; or any combination of education, training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

Licenses or Certifications:

• State Certified Firefighter.

Special Requirements: 

• Successful completion of National Fire Academy Executive Fire Officer program and current designation as a Chief Fire Officer (CFO) from the Center for Public Safety Excellence (CPSE)
