Description
HunaTek Government Solutions is seeking a Network Infrastructure Engineer to work on site in Washington, DC. The Network Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for monitoring of system performance, daily monitoring of log files for potential system or security issues as well as consistently monitor the network environment to ensure best practices and Federal guidelines are being followed.
Duties include the following:
- Actively participate in knowledge transfer - serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and be willing to provide strong, consistent technical advisement and mentorship; drive documentation efforts and the adoption of enterprise standards; Drives positive co-collaboration across enterprise teams; establish a rapport with Business Leaders and become a trusted partner.
- Be an escalation point for internal and external teams around Active Directory and Exchange.
- Record problem symptoms and status information in a timely fashion and communicate internally within IT and externally with the customer through problem resolution.
- Responsible for day-to-day administration duties including Windows Active Directory object maintenance. Conducts complex troubleshooting and repair tasks on Active Directory, Windows Server 2008-2019, Domain Controllers, user authentication and other operational systems as needed.
- Manage the server environment including server deployment, migrations, upgrades, patch management, application support, virus remediation, business continuity, operational and disaster recovery.
- Designs and implements Azure foundational elements including VNETs, Blob storage, instances, functions, networking, etcetera.
- Understands and work with Azure Disk, Azure Resource Monitoring, Azure Automation, Runbook and Azure Backup and Restoration. Builds methods for cost management and billing, resource utilization and calculation.
- Provide engineering support of a VPN based network infrastructure supporting Unified Communications (UC) services to include IP‐based trunking, voice routing design and configuration and unified messaging.
- Understanding of SDWAN concepts.
- Provide support to engineering and customer support teams.
- Utilize network performance and monitoring tools to resolve issues and maintain a healthy network.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network related connectivity issues.
- Performs general tasks for maintaining UC networks.
- Configure Cisco network routers and switches.
- Performs tasks associated with the interoperability and integration of the above networks.
- Test or analyze UC networks.
- Create accurate network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems.
- Provide detailed information for hardware and software selection.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- 4-7 years of Active Directory experience to include managing Group Policy Objects (GPOs), Active Directory Federation Services(ADFS), Azure Active Directory, and Azure Active Directory Domain Services (AADS).
- 4-7 years of experience operating and maintaining Windows servers group policy and permissions; vulnerability scans, audits, and mitigations; patch management
- CISCO certified network engineer with minimum five years extensive experience with CISCO network hardware and software products
- Network LAN/WAN experience.
- Capable of working with oversight on specific tasks associated with the implementation of network designs.
- Strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware.
- Ability to think through problems and visualize solutions.
- Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices, including wireless access points, firewall, routers, switches, controllers.
- Knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols.
- Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resources.
- Ability to work with all levels of staff within and outside of IT and outside the organization and perform other tasks as assigned
- A self‐starter able to work independently but comfortable working in a team environment.
- Good analytical and problem‐solving skills.
- Dependable and flexible when necessary.
- Network security experience.
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Experience with DNS and certificate management
- Efficiently monitoring & maintain network devices (like workstations, printers, scanners, copiers, and video equipment) that are failing authentication in ISE
- Cisco ISE ‐ troubleshoot, on‐board, offboard the devices from CISCO ISE process,
- VPN ‐ AnyConnect VPN ‐ troubleshooting, upgrades knowledge
- Extensive scripting experience; preferably with PowerShell. Performs task automation through the creation of scripts, Azure automation and orchestration
- Configuring and operating Proxy servers
- Experience with Microsoft Exchange
- Cisco switches and Wireless access points (WAPs)
- App gateway knowledge
- F‐5, Palo‐Alto
- Working knowledge of Azure cloud
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Moderate Risk Public Trust
