- University Fire Inspector
Description
The University Fire Inspector is responsible for conducting thorough building inspections to identify fire hazards and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local fire codes. This role involves performing tasks in accordance with applicable building, fire, and life safety regulations, as well as hazardous waste removal standards. The Fire Safety Inspector applies relevant regulations and standards to daily duties and may recommend process improvements to minimize risks of injury to personnel and prevent property damage. - Conduct building inspections to identify fire hazards and ensure compliance with national, state, and local fire safety codes, as well as hazardous waste removal standards.
- Apply relevant fire safety regulations and standards during daily duties to maintain a safe environment and recommend process improvements to reduce the risk of injury to personnel and minimize property damage.
- Ensure that fire safety and life safety procedures are consistently followed and identify areas for improvement through training and facility fire drills.
- Assist the University Fire Marshal with fire safety and life safety procedures. Ensuring they are consistently followed and improved for special events.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- AZ/ICC Fire Inspector I & II.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
- ICC Fire Plans Examiner preferred
