About this Opportunity:
IFA is seeking a creative, detailed oriented and data-driven storyteller to join our communications team. As our Marketing Specialist, you’ll collaborate with a dynamic team to lead high-profile marketing initiatives, manage communications and share the impact of our work across the state.

Key Responsibilities:
- Create Impactful Content: Write and distribute compelling newsletters, social media posts and news releases that highlight IFA’s programs and the Iowans they serve.
- Tell the Story of Impact: Transform complex data and program outcomes into relatable, human-centered stories that demonstrate real results across the state.
- Drive Digital Engagement: Keep websites accurate and accessible while creating fresh, relevant content that connects with audiences and delivers measurable results.
- Power Strategic Marketing: Support high-tech, data-informed, and automation-driven campaigns that elevate IFA’s programs and brand.
- Coordinate Events and Partnerships: Help plan and execute conferences, special events and partner initiatives that showcase collaboration and innovation.
- Shape the Message: Ensure consistent, on-brand communication across all platforms.
- Foster Connection: Build strong relationships with partners and the public, respond to inquiries, and help strengthen IFA’s reputation for service and transparency.
- Collaborate Across Programs: Work with teams including Housing, State Revolving Fund, Iowa Title Guaranty, and the Iowa Agricultural Development to craft cohesive strategies and creative promotional materials.

Requirements
Applicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification:
1) Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in journalism, public relations, graphic design, or communications and experience equal to two years of full-time work planning and developing content for dissemination through traditional media (newspapers, publications, radio, and television), websites, social media, and/or public speaking.
2) All of the following (a and b):
a. Two years of full-time work experience in planning and developing content for dissemination through traditional media (newspapers, publications, radio, and television), websites, social media, and/or public speaking; and
b. A total of four years of education and/or full-time experience (as described in part a), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university course work in journalism, public relations, graphic design, or communications equals one year of fulltime experience.
3) Number two above, where twenty-four semester hours of postgraduate coursework in journalism, public relations, graphic design, or communications from an accredited college or university may substitute for one year of the required full-time work experience.
4) Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes experience equal to 18 months of full-time work as an Information Specialist 1.
