Company Overview
The City of Arcata is located on the Northern California coast, approximately 275 miles north of San Francisco and 110 miles south of the Oregon border. Arcata is framed by the Pacific Ocean on the west, forested hills on the east, the Mad River on the North, and Humboldt Bay to the south.
Arcata developed its unique character by integrating its many diverse resources. The City’s innovations have included pioneering a state-of-the-art marsh based wastewater treatment system, establishing the first community owned forest in the United States and development of a food manufacturing incubator. The City enjoys a desirable quality of life including a small town atmosphere, several California Distinguished Schools, light traffic, and large expanses of open space.
Arcata’s mild climate and beautiful scenery make it a desirable place to live and raise a family. As home to Humboldt State University and College of the Redwoods just 30 minutes away, it allows easy access to higher education and cultural opportunities.
