Company Profile

Company Overview

Your City of Hillsboro Fire Department is on the scene for some of life’s most difficult events. We approach each emergency with expertise and professionalism, but also with sincere compassion and concern for the people involved. We’re trained to save lives, protect property, and help our community to be as safe a place as possible for living, working, playing and learning.

Putting out fires is only one of the services we provide. Because ours is an all-hazard, all-risk fire department, any call to 9-1-1 often results in a dispatch of our team. A call for an ambulance, for example, will often mean a fire truck is first on the scene. We’re already mobilized for rapid response, and all of our firefighters are trained emergency medical technicians, so it’s not a stretch for us to help. Those few extra minutes of care can mean a greater chance for a successful outcome.

When we’re not responding to emergency calls, we’re out in the community talking to our friends and neighbors—whether it’s a pre-school class or a group of senior citizens. It’s all about helping people identify ways they can improve their own safety and prevent fires and other emergencies from happening in the first place. We offer station tours and will go onsite for presentations at schools and businesses. At your request, we can also visit your home and assess its safety with regard to smoke alarms, fire extinguishers and escape planning.

Incidents of fire are on the decline in Hillsboro, and we like to think it’s because of the great partnerships we have with the people in our community, and our collective commitment to make safety a priority.
