Company History
The South Florida Water Management District is the oldest and largest of the state's five water management districts, managing water resources in a 16-county region that stretches from Orlando to the Florida Keys. The agency's original mission was to provide flood control for South Florida residents by operating what has become one of the largest water management systems in the world. Today, our responsibilities have expanded to managing the regional water supply, improving water quality and protecting and restoring unique ecosystems, including America's Everglades.
