POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
Full-time, 40 hours per week.
Location: District 1-Middletown, Southington, CT
A valid driver's license and pre-physical examination are required.
The candidate pool resulting from this job announcement may be used to fill future vacancies that may occur next year at various Rest Area facility locations.
Shifts will vary, weekend coverage is mandatory.
Examples of shifts available:
WORK SCHEDULE EXAMPLE Middletown
Wednesday - Sunday: 4:00 PM - 12:00 AM
Monday, Tuesday: OFF
WORK SCHEDULE EXAMPLE Southington
Monday - Thursday: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Sunday: 12:00 AM - 8:00 AM
Friday, Saturday: OFF
THE ROLE
The Department of Transportation Rest Area Attendants can expect to perform the following:
Grass cutting, trimming, shrub bed maintenance, hedge row trimming, litter pickup, snow and ice removal
Continuous cleaning within the confines of the rest area grounds and buildings
Related duties
The ideal candidate for this position would possess a comprehensive background in maintenance trade practices, adeptly applying mechanical principles and utilizing maintenance materials to ensure efficient operations.
