Description
Lassen Municipal Utility District is seeking an
experienced, safety-focused Journeyman Lineman
to join our Electric Operations team. This is an
opportunity to work for a community-owned utility
where your skills directly impact the reliability and
safety of electric service for more than 10,000
customers across Northeastern California.
Key Responsibilities:
-Construct, maintain, and repair overhead and underground electric
distribution and transmission systems.
-Install and maintain poles, transformers, switches, insulators, conductors,
underground cable, and associated equipment.
-Perform switching operations, testing, troubleshooting, fault location, and service restoration.
-Install and maintain substation equipment, including transformers,
breakers, disconnects, and buswork.
-Connect and disconnect customer services and assist with service
upgrades and new installations.
-Work safely on energized facilities using rubber gloving techniques and
hot-stick methods.
-Participate in emergency response, outage restoration, and system
maintenance activities.
Requirements
-Successful completion of a recognized electrical lineworker
apprenticeship program and Journeyman Lineman
certification.
-Strong knowledge of overhead and underground electric
utility construction, maintenance, and operations.
-Experience working with energized distribution systems using
rubber gloves and insulating tools.
-Knowledge of utility safety regulations, electrical safety
orders, and industry best practices.
-Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License, or ability to obtain
one within six months of hire.
