Job Summary
MRI Technologist (MRI) Madison, Wisconsin
The MRI Technologist role supports diagnostic imaging services by performing magnetic resonance imaging examinations and preparing patients and equipment for accurate, high-quality results. This position requires bringing the active license on the first day of employment. Start date is 07/06/2026.
Job Details
- Schedule: Day/Evenings; 7.5 shift hours, with a minimum of 37.5 hours per week. Coverage may require an occasional weekend day (07:0019:00) if needed. On-call coverage is required Monday through Friday from 11:00 PM7:00 AM, and weekends from 7:00 AM7:00 PM or 7:00 PM7:00 AM, randomly assigned.
- Required Qualifications: Two (2) years of clinical experience; Graduate of a School of Radiologic Technology; American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) (MR) required (American Registry of MRI Technologists [ARMRIT] MRI accepted if no ARRT MR); Basic Life Support (BLS) required (American Heart Association (AHA) only).
- Preferred Qualifications: Epic charting experience.
- Certifications/Skills/Responsibilities: Performs MRI examinations across adult and pediatric patient populations and supports a wide range of MRI exam types, including (as listed) abdominal imaging, brain, breast, cardiac studies, diffusion imaging, MR angiography (MRA), MR venography (MRV), spectroscopy, pulmonary imaging, perfusion studies, peripheral angiography, and other advanced applications. Handles radiation safety, isolation precautions/personal protective equipment, preparation and/or administration of contrast media, PACS-related workflow, and peripheral access support (including starting peripheral IVs). Provides communication to inpatient (IP) and emergency department (ED) teams independently/confidently.
- Additional Information: A telemetry exam will be required prior to start, with strict pass/fail criteria. A pulmonary embolism (PE) pulmonary embolism exam MR angiography (MRA) is required if working PMs and/or weekends; otherwise it is preferred.
