Operating Room (First Assistant) Ranson, West Virginia
A healthcare professional is needed for an Operating Room (First Assistant) role at an acute care facility in Ranson, West Virginia. Responsibilities include supporting surgical procedures with a focus on strong experience in similar operating room environments, including required DaVinci robotic experience. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of work.
Job Details
- Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts (06:4517:15); minimum 40 hours per week. Call is required.
- Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) (AHA); Certified Surgical First Assist (CSFA) via National Board for Surgical Technology & Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) verification; DaVinci robotic experience; experience with total joints, endoscopy, and ophthalmology.
- Preferred Qualifications: Prior travel experience is preferred; first-time travelers may be considered when there is strong experience in similar operating room environments.
- Responsibilities:
- Provide first-assistant support during a high-volume surgical caseload, including total joints (hip, knees, shoulders), arthroscopies, sports medicine, and other orthopedic procedures.
- Support endoscopy cases and ophthalmology-related cases as assigned.
- Participate in unit/department specific orientation, including three preceptor shifts following general hospital orientation.
- Maintain readiness for call coverage, with a 30-minute response time requirement (must be dressed and ready to work within 30 minutes).
- Follow department workflow, including transition through pre-operative areas as applicable.
