Job Summary:
Espaola, New Mexico This position is for a Surgical Technician in the Operating Room. The role involves assisting surgeons by preparing and providing instruments and equipment during surgical procedures. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. The position supports a safe, effective, and orderly operating environment to maximize patient safety.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: HS Diploma or GED and one of the following: - Completion of a Surgical Technician training program (requirement verified at interview) or graduation from an accredited school - Certified Surgical Technician (CST) credential from NBSTSA or NCCT + ten (10) years of experience - BLS certification required and must be completed through the American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross
- Preferred Qualifications: None specified
- Float: Float rotation may be required within local departments and locations within 20 miles, as noted in the facility's fixed notes
- Additional Information: Candidates should have current experience of two (2) years in a large operating room setting and possess skills including operating room procedures, aseptic technique, instrument handling, surgical equipment knowledge, and patient positioning. Knowledge of anesthesia knowledge, intraoperative medication, and intraoperative specimen handling is also preferred.
