Job Summary:
Radiation Therapist in Tucson, Arizona. This position involves performing prescribed radiation therapy treatments according to established policies, procedures, and professional standards. Job Details:
- Location: Tucson, Arizona
- Hours: Days shift, 10 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week
- Position Type: Radiation Therapist (RTT)
- Experience: 0 years of previous radiation therapy experience preferred; advanced training or additional related education welcome
- Education & Certifications: Associate degree in radiation oncology or a related field; national certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT); licensure by the state regulatory agency if applicable; BLS certification required
- Specific Responsibilities:
- Perform prescribed radiation therapy treatments following provider orders
- Educate patients and families regarding procedures and treatment plans
- Operate treatment planning and delivery equipment, including simulation
- Prepare and maintain treatment documentation and quality control measures
- Follow radiation safety principles including ALARA for radioactive materials
- Ensure compliance with departmental and regulatory standards, maintaining confidentiality and ethical responsibilities
- Additional Notes: Candidates must demonstrate effective communication skills, clinical techniques related to radiation therapy, and a safety-conscious approach. May support the activities of students and support staff at diverse facilities.
- Schedule: Days, 10 hours per shift, minimum 40 hours per week
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
