Job Summary:
The facility is seeking a qualified Speech Language Pathologist (Speech Language Pathologist - Inpatient) located in Westwood, New Jersey. This role involves providing specialized inpatient speech therapy services to a predominantly geriatric patient population with conditions such as post-operative cervical spine surgeries, pneumonia, heart failure, COPD, and falls. Candidates are required to bring their New Jersey license on the first day of the assignment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 8-hour shifts, Days, 40 hours per week, with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience. The role includes 5 days per week plus 1 weekend shift per month.
- Required Qualifications: Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Certification in Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP), and Modified Barium Swallow. Valid New Jersey license must be in hand at time of submission.
- Community Hospital Experience: Not specified.
- Travel Experience Required: Yes.
- Certifications: BLS, CCC-SLP, Modified Barium Swallow.
- Skills: Experience with acute care assessments including Boston Aphasia Evaluation (BAE), bedside swallow evaluations, communication boards, compensatory strategies, conducting Modified Barium Swallow Studies, managing neurological and degenerative disorders, dysphagia, dysarthria, fluency issues, and oral motor exams. Strong knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare A and B, and patient/family education is also desired.
- Additional Information:
- All RTO (Requests for Time Off) must be listed at time of submittal.
- Vaccinations required: COVID-19 vaccine and Flu vaccine.
- Completion of onsite modules during orientation, with non-billable hours incorporated into total hours.
- Must complete core onboarding items and labs within 48 hours of contract signing.
