Certified Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) Tupelo, MS
The organization is seeking a Certified Sterile Processing Technician to support day-to-day Central Sterile Processing (CSP) operations. This role focuses on decontaminating, sterilizing, and preparing surgical instruments and clinical equipment, while maintaining accurate record-keeping and supply readiness. Candidates are required to bring their license/certification documentation on the first day.
Job Details
- Schedule: Evenings, 8-hour shifts, 40 hours per week (MondayFriday).
- Required Qualifications: CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician); High school diploma; Detail-oriented approach; strong written, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills; excellent stress management skills; at least 2 years of Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) experience (if less than 5 years, graduation from an Operating Room Technician (ORT) program is required); ability to communicate and work effectively with Central Sterile Processing (CSP), Surgical, and Nursing staff.
- Preferred Qualifications: Prior travel experience.
- Responsibilities:
- Decontaminate, sterilize, and prepare surgical instruments and clinical equipment
- Distribute surgical instruments and clinical equipment
- Ensure quality instrument set preparation
- Monitor and restock supplies and equipment
- Accurately and effectively communicate with Central Sterile Processing (CSP) and Surgical staff
- Monitor and record biological testing results of sterilization processes
- Maintain a positive, caring attitude toward clients, patients, staff, and the public served
- Additional Information: No holidays; no weekends; no on-call.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
