Job Summary:
A Pediatric Cardiovascular Operating Room Technician (Surgical Technician/Operating Room Technician) position is available in Tacoma, Washington. This role involves working in a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center within a Pediatric Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR). The chosen candidate will assist with complex cases including congenital heart surgeries, ECMO, ASD repairs, and more. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of assignment.
Job Details:
- Location: Tacoma, Washington
- Schedule: 06/29/2026, Days shift from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Certifications: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST), Basic Life Support (BLS), Washington State License; a minimum of 3 years of Pediatric CVOR experience; experience scrubbing with the specified patient types and procedures; first scrub role experience involving handing supplies and counting instruments; proficiency with EPIC electronic medical record system.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience assisting with neonatal and adult-sized patients, handling congenital anomalies, and complex cardiothoracic cases.
- Additional Information: First-time traveler? No, unless 5+ Pediatric CVOR experience. Floating: Will help General Operating Room to assist with cases when not busy in CVOR. Weekend rotation: Call only. On call? Yes, one call shift per week (expected following morning) and two weekends in a six-week period (Friday to Monday morning), with a 30-minute response time.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Other Details: Hospital-provided scrubbing attire (color), free parking available.
