Job Summary
Ultrasonographer Echo (Ultrasound Tech) Carlsbad, New Mexico. This role provides diagnostic ultrasound services for both inpatient and outpatient populations while independently performing ultrasound procedures in accordance with departmental protocols. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details
- Schedule: Days, 8:00 AM4:30 PM, MondayFriday; minimum 40 hours per week. Call: 57 days of call per month may be required.
- Required Qualifications:
- Ultrasound ARDMS
- Ultrasound ARRT
- New Mexico (NM) license (eligible for ECHO license)
- Minimum 2 years of ultrasound experience (2+ years experience required)
- Ultrasound technical skills for OB and general ultrasound; ECHO ultrasound experience is optional
- Graduate of an accredited AMA school; registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) and/or credentialed as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
- Preferred Qualifications:
- ECHO ultrasound experience (ECHO ultrasound experience is optional)
- Additional Information:
- Performs abdominal, pelvic (gynecological and obstetrical), and transvaginal sonograms, as well as proficiency scanning small parts (thyroid, breast, scrotum).
- Provides ultrasound-guided biopsy, drainage, thoracentesis, paracentesis, and aspirations.
- Recognizes and documents pathologies during scanning for radiologist interpretation and ensures high-quality diagnostic imaging results.
- Assumes responsibility for patient care, safety, and comfort; maintains compliance with safety and infection control guidelines.
- Operates ultrasound equipment safely and effectively and accurately documents procedures and patient information in the electronic health record; ensures associated documents are scanned into PACS for radiologist interpretation.
- Coordinates imaging material supply monitoring and replenishment as needed.
- Scrubs: any color.
- Float: no floating required.
