Description
The Web Services & Systems Librarian manages the library's website, digital services, and technology systems to ensure reliable access to library resources and a positive user experience. Works closely with library staff, campus IT, and vendors to support and improve library technologies and digital services. May assume supervisory responsibility for technology-related staff and student employees as organizational needs evolve. Reports to the Library Director.
Examples
Maintain and enhance the library website and Springshare products, including LibGuides, LibAnswers, LibCal, and LibWizard. Administer and support library systems, authentication services, digital platforms, and online resources to ensure reliable access to library services. Coordinate with vendors and campus IT to resolve technology and access issues. Maintain documentation related to library systems and digital services. Evaluate and implement improvements to library technologies and digital services. Collaborate with library staff to support web services, digital content, and technology initiatives. Provide training and support related to library technologies and digital services. Participate in library and university committees as assigned.
Requirements
Experience
Experience managing websites, digital platforms, or technology systems. Experience troubleshooting technology and supporting users. Experience coordinating projects or leading teams preferred. Academic library experience preferred but not required.
Knowledge
Knowledge of web technologies and accessibility standards. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Education
MLS from an ALA-accredited institution preferred. Candidates with degrees in information technology, computer science, instructional technology, digital media, user experience, or related fields will also be considered.

Must have the ability to be flexible with job responsibilities and exercise sound judgement. Requires the ability to maintain positive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the community. Personal cell phone usage may be required to complete position duties, including multi-function authentication requirements. Regular reliable attendance is required.
This position is designated as security sensitive (Mod) and requires a criminal background check. Position is designated as a Responsible Employee as outlined by Title IX. May serve as Campus Security Authority as outlined by the Clery Act.
